EVENTS FOR JULY

Thank you to Brian and Frances Hyson from the Rotary Club of White River for choosing Hospice White River as the beneficiary of the July's quiz night held at Picasso's Mexican Taqueria. Thank you to everyone who joined the festivities. The Hospice White River team appreciates you all dearly.

"I think books are like people, in the sense that they’ll turn up in your life when you most need them." – Emma Thompson. Thank you Ludi and Dina for giving us the oppertunity to showcase our books at the bookmarket on the 20th of July that was held at the Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre. We look forward to seeing you again on the 24th of August.

The Centenary Celebration Weekend, orchestrated by White River Country Club and Joan Tozer, was a spectacular display of community unity. This event united residents of all ages, local businesses, and charitable organizations in a remarkable demonstration of community spirit. A heartfelt thank you extends to Debbie Schlosser for generously assisting the Hospice White River team with her delightful baked treats. Together, we sold an impressive 66 cupcakes, showcasing our community's strong support and solidarity. Your participation and generosity made this weekend an unforgettable experience. Thank you for contributing to the success of this special event!
OUR JULY HOSPICE SUPPORT TEA

We had a delightful July support tea this month, where we had the pleasure of singing happy birthday to our two gentlemen attendees. The highlight was our in-house general knowledge quiz, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Congratulations to our two winners!
COMMUNITY SUPPORT

In a heart-warming display of community support, the Hazyview Magrietjies Quilting Group donated R15 000 to Hospice White River. The funds were raised from the quilt’s group latest masterpiece. The official handover ceremony took place at the Kiepersol Methodist Church in Hazyview last Thursday. According to White River’s hospice manager, Terran Gericke, through dedication and creativity, the group of 18 women spent three months meticulously crafting the quilt, which collected an impressive R15, 000. “The funds raised will play a crucial role in supporting Hospice White River's mission to provide compassionate care and support to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses. The quilting group's initiative not only showcases the power of creativity and teamwork, but also underscores the spirit of giving back to the community. Their efforts, spanning three months of dedication from 18 talented women, serve as an inspiration to us all, demonstrating how collective action can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others,” said Gericke.
