A Fresh Coat of Kindness: Thank You to Jaco Putter and Lowveld Paints
At Hospice White River, every act of generosity helps us continue our mission of providing compassionate care. We are incredibly grateful to Jaco Putter from Witrivier Geloofsentrum and Lowveld Paints for their thoughtful support in refreshing our outdoor fencing. As a nonprofit, we often have to prioritize essential patient care over maintenance projects. Thanks to Jaco’s initiative, not only was this important project made possible, but he also secured a generous donation of paint from Lowveld Paints and organized helping hands to assist our Garden Attendee, Daniel Mdaka, in bringing this vision to life. This contribution goes beyond just a fresh coat of paint—it enhances our visibility in the community and ensures our space remains welcoming to all who need us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Jaco, Witrivier Geloofsentrum, and Lowveld Paints. Your kindness is truly making a difference. 💚
A Community United: Thank You to Lowveld Nomads and Our Incredible Supporters
At Hospice White River, we are continuously reminded of the incredible generosity within our community. We extend our deepest gratitude to Johan van Rensburg and the Lowveld Nomads, a key part of the Andrew Mentis Foundation, for choosing us as a beneficiary in 2022. With their support, we were able to construct a much-needed storage facility, ensuring better organization and enhanced patient care. This project was truly a community effort, made possible by Tom Fry Architects for their expert building plans, Smart Stone for donating bricks, Hauzen Properties for their quality construction, Janelco for signage, and Full Circle for providing a security system to protect our valuable equipment. This isn’t just a storage space—it’s a testament to the power of community, generosity, and shared purpose. Thanks to all who contributed, Hospice White River continues to be a beacon of care and compassion. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. 💚
White River Increases Star Rating
As of 31 January 2024, Hospice White River is proud to announce that we have increased our star membership rating with the African Palliative Care Centres (APCC). This milestone reflects our dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality palliative care. We are deeply grateful to our staff, volunteers, and supporters—your commitment and generosity make this achievement possible. Thank you for standing with us as we continue to serve our community with excellence and care.
Hospice Haven & Gardens: A Space of Comfort and Healing
Hospice Haven was created as an outdoor sanctuary for training, bereavement support, and moments of quiet reflection. This dedicated space allows our team to equip patients and their loved ones with essential skills while offering families a peaceful environment to process their grief. Since its establishment, we have been incredibly fortunate to receive the ongoing support of Johanna Schutte, whose dedication has transformed the look and feel of Hospice White River. Her hard work in maintaining and beautifying our gardens has not only improved our physical space but has also uplifted the spirits of our staff, patients, and visitors. We are deeply grateful for their generosity, care, and commitment to keeping Hospice White River a welcoming and serene place for all who walk through our doors.
